Combating racism has been a priority since the founding of the
United Nations is a core task of this organization.
The principle of non-discrimination is the pillar of the UN Charter, the Universal Declaration of Rights
of man, the international Conventions on
human rights, the International Convention on
the elimination of all forms of racial discrimination
and the other instruments concerning the rights of the
man. The drafters of the UN Charter adopted
to end racial persecution. Moreover, Article 1 of the Universal Declaration provides
of Human Rights (December 10, 1948):
« All people become free and equal in dignity and
rights born. ». That historical document states that
human rights and fundamental freedoms
apply to everyone, regardless of color, gender, language or
religion.
